User Groups: National Grid Residential and Commercial Gas Customers

The Gas Connections application is a portal for residential and commercial customers to submit gas connection applications for their properties. 

Residential customers, i.e., homeowners, and contractors who are working with residential and commercial properties, must apply to National Grid to install gas on their property.

Before the development and deployment of this online gas connection application, the application process was handled manually over the phone with the submission of paper forms or a pdf. The GasConnection application was designed to digitize each step of the application process and to provide a way for homeowners and contractors to monitor application status information online.

Relying on stakeholder and customer feedback, we created a user experience that streamlined information collection and provided a portal where customers can monitor their application progress.
